The Railway Station: Lens of the Modern City
Have you ever wondered whether our Main Railway Station is unique? This question will be answered by Professor Agnieszka Zabłocka-Kos. We invite you to the third lecture in the Progress series – a story about the significance of the construction of the Station in the creation of a modern city.
Wrocław Main Station is one of the few railway buildings from the mid-19th century to have survived in such good condition. Its fascinating history is connected with Wrocław’s great ambitions to be a metropolis uniting East and West. The lecture will present known and unknown stories about the station. We will discuss its unique architecture and role as a catalyst for the transformation of the southern part of the city. It will also feature family memories and post-war stories.
Come and join us at the BWA Wrocław Główny Gallery, the best place to learn about the history of the building that houses one of BWA Wrocław’s galleries.

In her transdisciplinary works, she presents the history of architecture against a broad historical, political and social background.
