Good evening in Wrocław
Is the evening just a transition between the day and darkness? A short moment when the reception of our immediate surroundings changes?
When everything seems to be falling asleep? The evening is certainly the time when our relationships with the environment change. It used to be associated with stepping into the darkness, which was something much more palpable than it is now. It used to define the natural rhythm of life – in accordance with the course of nature.
Good evening in Wrocław! was a project which highlighted that time of day and the way we perceive the city at dusk. A working group was set up in the autumn of 2021 and each of its members tackled one aspect of the city’s evening – from street lighting to fear and unease. The four lectures given by invited specialists also focussed on the subject matter.
At the end of the year, we will present a photocast summarising all the visual and auditory references gathered in the process. Next year, we invite everyone to see the results in the form of an exhibition at BWA Wrocław Główny (18 February – 27 March 2022).
