Guided historical and architectural walking tour with Rafał Eysymontt
A successive meeting in the series of the Progress and Seasons in the Park events. On the last Saturday of June we propose a guided walking tour during which we shall get to know with city transformations that took place in the vicinity of Kolejowa Street as well as with the remaining historical architecture of that street and its neighbouring streets: Tęczowa, Prosta and Trójcy Świętej.
We shall gain access to the former wagon production plant and the former Reich Post Office building, where we will be able admire relics of the post-industrial brick architecture in an excellent state of conservation. We shall learn about their original function, the designers of those historical buildings and the ways how to make most of the values of such historical monuments today. During the tour, we shall be able to reflect on the presence of history in the city’s contemporary life, the permanence of the matter and the idea of regeneration of the urban fabric.
The walking tour shall be guided by Prof. Rafał Eysymontt.

The event is organised as part of the second edition of the public programme entitled ‘Progress and Seasons in the Park”. The programme proposes guided walks, lectures, workshops and artistic activities for adults and families with children alike.
Between spring and autumn, we invite all those interested to the Lesław Węgrzynowski Park located next to the future seat of BWA Wrocław to get a chance to learn more about this neighbourhood in terms of its historical, social and natural aspects. We shall listen to the sounds of the surrounding ambience, talk about the industrialisation of this area and consider its contemporaneity. ‘We have invited specialists from many fields, artists and architects to take part in the programme and to let the residents re-discover this place,’ say Iwona Kałuża, Joanna Synowiec and Magdalena Weber, the programme curators.
