Soon event
The event’s title directly references the concept of the exhibition “Through the Looking Glass”, while maintaining the aesthetic of “Wonderland”. The event focuses on the local ballroom scene in Wrocław, combining elements of performance and a fashion show. On Friday, expression, style, and community will weave together into a single, cohesive narrative.
The starting point for this project is the experience of a first encounter with ballroom culture – stepping into its world as if down a rabbit hole, full of glamour, movement, pride, and profound transformation. The performance explores the theme of liminality – the state between presence and absence. It also addresses physicality that lies beyond one’s full control. These tensions are situated within a transgender context, creating a safe space for reflection on processes of change, visibility, and identity.
The event focuses on the local ballroom scene in Wrocław. It combines elements of performance and a fashion show, creating a hybrid form – an experience at the intersection of Fashion and Ballroom, where expression, style, and community intertwine into a single, cohesive narrative. The event will take place directly within the exhibition space, which has been arranged for the purposes of the project as a safe haven – a “House” for the ballroom community. An integral part of this permanent, immersive set design is a classic runway, which serves as the symbolic heart of the exhibition.

Lila Dziedzic is responsible for the direction, choreography, and original costumes, and she will also actively participate in the show. Joining her on the runway will be invited performers who actively contribute to Wrocław’s ballroom community on a daily basis: AMELIOSH, KUBU 007, and Timmy 007.
The event is co-organized by Kultura Równości.
