Seasons
Seasons is a public programme during which together with the public and invited guests we shall think about various life strategies in the time of a climate crisis. The seasons in the title refer not only to the seasons of the year, in accordance with which we could in theory live a harmonious life, but also give us food for thought about what is taking place right here and right now.
The seasons of the year used to refer us to specific stages of the nature’s cycle, settle us in the actual present time. Today, in the time of crisis, they become unclear, ambiguous and start to lose their – one would expect permanent – features, like snow in winter, mud and rain in early spring in Central Europe.
What can we do with this experience of being a witness to the vanishing of natural cycles and seasons the human body is also subject to? How to observe them carefully to be able to accept the situation? What can give us inspiration to look for ways to adjust to the changes? Where do we get the feeling of empowerment from in this experience? Is mourning appropriate?
Rambling and watching the nature in different seasons, exercising and learning about the permaculture, walking, creating, talking, getting inspiration from the practices of various artists, we shall ask questions together. Maybe sometimes we shall be able to find responses to some of them. Come and joins us in our exercises on the reality of seasonal transformation.
In BWA Wrocław, we get inspiration from the cyclicity and transformation of natural seasons. Our clock measuring the flow of time will be the Wrocław Sewage Farms – formerly a sewage plant and today an area of nature-culture.
