SIC! BWA Wrocław
At the SIC! gallery from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm you are invited to an exhibition of Norwegian glass I & We, inspired by Norway’s unique natural environment. Selected in an open call format, the artists have created glass works that they use as tools of engagement, to generate relationships and to perform. Their works act as carriers of information, telling future generations about our present, but also bitterly commenting on it. They are an impulse to revise their own artistic practices in the context of climate change and our intensive exploitation of the Earth’s resources.
Schedule of special events:
- 5pm – curatorial tour with Mika Drozdowska
Dizajn BWA Wrocław
The Kowalskis Must Rest.
An Exhibition about Pafawag and Free Time
The Dizajn gallery invites visitors for an exhibition The Kowalskis Must Rest, which, drawing from the history of the State Wagon Factory “Pafawag”, takes up the theme of leisure and spending free time during the communist period. It is a story constructed around graphic design of ephemeral prints, photographs, films and conversations with Pafawag employees. It is in line with Lifery’s concepts and the search for existing models for recreation in working conditions. The graphic designs on display, as well as the leisure architecture, capture the spirit of design of the time. In the context of the exhibition, they are also the basis for telling a story about the humanization of labor and its visual manifestations.
Schedule of special events:
- 6pm-10pm intergenerational dance party The Kowalskis Must Dance with DJ Duch
BWA Wrocław Główny
At the BWA Wrocław Główny gallery, visitors will be able to see an exhibition titled Journey to the Interior of the Earth, which brings together two key themes for the Central Station: travel and coal. The exhibition analyzes anthropocentrism, according to which man was the most important entity in the universe. The historic rooms of the BWA Wrocław Główny gallery on the first floor of the Central Station present more than 30 works, created in various media – from painting and sculpture, through installation and collage, to photography and film. The artists invited to the exhibition look at man’s relation to geological resources, and the exhibition evokes old natural history museums.
Special lines launched on the occasion of Museum Night will run from 3:20 p.m. to about 11 p.m. Two streetcar lines and five bus lines have been planned. The transfer center will be Theater Square (Opera House), where all lines will converge and from where historic public transportation vehicles will collectively depart every 5 minutes. All schedules will be posted on kstm.pl.
