Two rounds of events constituted the Resilience office: Regeneration Culture and Preventorium. The former was a series of walks in Wrocław’s Septic Drain Fields throughout the year 2021, accompanying the Regeneration Field exhibition at the Dizajn BWA Wrocław gallery.
The ambience of Wrocław’s Septic Drain Fields has a soothing effect on human emotions, just like a sanatorium stay. The thematic walks focussed on a shared discovery of the past and significance of this wild part of the city. During the meetings, participants listened to the sound of the fields, discovered their wildlife, spoke in a half-whisper and tried to leave as few traces as possible.
The series started with Katarzyna Roj’s lecture, based on the concept of Lifery, an urban sanatorium at Wrocław’s Dizajn BWA gallery. She talked about urban resilience, the mysterious vitality of the place and a specific perspective developed together with artists and designers participating in the Regeneration Field project. Meetings with experts followed.
